The VICC-CLP (Vancouver Island and Coastal Communities Climate Leadership Plan) Steering Committee is an independent group of local government representatives working to build a climate leadership plan for Vancouver Island and Coastal Communities.
Vancouver Island and Coastal Communities working together to reduce emissions and mitigate climate change at the same time as adapting to a changing climate by creating resilient, regenerative, inclusive and prosperous communities and economies.
To create a climate leadership plan for Vancouver Island and Coastal Communities that draws on and builds from the unique circumstances of our individual communities—rural and urban—at the same time as thinking as a whole region.
The region shares a common history, as well as vulnerabilities, adaptation and mitigation challenges. Its economic diversity and urban-rural linkages support the potential to build circular and sustainable economies with shared resources and coordinated action."
